Harnessing Microbial Machinery for Green Economy and Industrial Revolution
This theme was decided because Niger State is endowed with a diverse range of natural resources, which include abundant agricultural land and valuable water bodies, with the government intensifying efforts to integrate carbon-neutral energy production into the agricultural and energy sectors and the produce from agriculture can be harnessed for various industrial use.
Niger State has an estimated 682, 331 hectares of irrigable land. The major crops being cultivated in the State include rice, yams, sorghum maise, ground nuts, beans, cassava sugarcane, melon, millet etc The State also has ideal conditions for livestock development because of the abundant grass fodder, favourable weather, abundant water
Therefore, since food security is essential for sustainable development, economic stability, and social well-being and microorganisms are key to food production, the theme addresses current trend in the world and is within the strengths of Niger State
